Welcome!

January 1, 2011 is the first day of a new year, and the second year I will try to attempt to post a photo every day for the next 365 days. It didn't work out so well last year. But as a New Years resolution, I have decided to try the 365 Day Photography challenge again.

120/365 A Barn in Black and White

I love pictures of old barns. I think the owner is going to take it down soon, so I thought I better get a picture of it. I took a number of pictures in color but taking pictures in black and white helps to detail the age.

119/365 Pink and Yellow Orchid

It almost looks like a close up of a bug's mouth...weird huh? Well it's what I see.

118/365 Double Decker Chihuahua Part Deux

Ocho is under there somewhere...I think. Chloe just walked over and sat on top of him. He never wake up. And we didn't think the puppies would ever get along.

117/365 The Pocket Watch

Pocket watches don't seem to like going through the laundry. I forgot to empty out my pants pockets and this happened. I took it all apart to let it dry out. I will get a new battery for it tomorrow.

116/365 Purple Orchid

I seem to be going crazy when it comes to flowers lastly. Whenever I see a flower, I have to take a picture of it. I have a strange fascination with close up photography. I also love Georgia O'Keeffe paintings and somehow I think my flower pictures are "O'Keeffe like." Special sale...$10.00 for an 8x10.

115/365 Bottles Abound...

My husband has been antique shopping again. He found all these small, old whiskey bottles at a barn sale and wanted to buy them. He bought 12 for $5.00. They are all empty. They are all from the 50's and 60's, maybe older. I don't remember a lot of them. I think they make great still live photos.

114/365 And Nothing Else Matters

As Christians, this is what it's all about. It's not about colored eggs or the Easter bunny. It's about the death and resurrection of Jesus. Without Jesus raising from the death on the third day, we would be just as hopeless as the rest of the world.

Ever been to a non-Christian's funeral? Think about the crying and hopeless the ones that are left behind feel. For Christians, we know where the departed loved one is going and there is great comfort in knowing we will see that person again because of the work of Christ.

Thank you Jesus, Alleluia.

113/365 Lauren and a Friend

We had a mission meeting today. Afterwards, we took our buddy Lauren to dinner and she found this friend. I had to take a picture. What a cool kid. We think the world of her.

112/365 Yellow Daisy...sort'a

I was playing around with my Photoshop Elements. I really like how this turned out. I am trying new things as I learn.

April 21, 2011

111/365 All the Colors of The Rainbow...

All the same but also different. I don't know why I like this but...

April 20, 2011

110/365 Little Red Mustang

I love this car. If I ever get a full time job, I'm going looking for this car. This is my dream. Even in the rain, I want it.

April 19, 2011

109/365 New Game...What Is It?

This is used to give pills to cows or other livestock. Used mostly on cows. The farmer puts this into the cow's mouth and down it's throat and pushs the plunger. My sister and brother-in-law, when I was young, had beef cattle and I remember seeing my brother-in-law using one of these. Thom found this at a farm sale and thought it would sell on EBay.

April 18, 2011

108/365 A Box of Blue Green...

I really like this box of blue green glass electric thingies. I can't remember what they're called. I found these in an antique shop. I can't believe it's snowing and we were out in it.

April 17, 2011

107/365 Strawberries...Yum!

I love these guys. They are so wonderfully red. They look so good and tasted great. Spring has finally come.

April 16, 2011

106/365 New Owners...Us.

It is now our turn to be proud new owners. We are the proud owners of Tara (white) and Chloe (black and white) who are 12 weeks old. We got a great deal. We had to go 283 miles to Niles Michigan and back to pick them up, but that's ok. They are so worth it.

Ocho is just a ham and got into the picture with his new playmates. I am amazed at the size difference. He is nine weeks and they're twelve and he looks so little next to them. It won't be long and he may be bigger. He can keep with them though. They are all getting along so well.

I can't wait until they are all grown up. I'm excited about what they are all going to look like. Especially Ocho.

105/365 New Owner...Shelby Murray and Uno

We are thrilled and very happy that Uno is going to his new "forever" home. Shelby is very nice and excited to finally be taking Uno home with her. She, her boyfriend David and their little girl are giving Uno a good home and we are very happy for them. Uno will be living in South Lansing.

April 14, 2011

104/365 Butterfly on a Bottle

I was looking at wine bottles today and seen this scene. I can't think of the name of the wine. I think this so pretty. I like the graphic and I think this is been done so well. I wonder if the wine in the bottle is as good as the picture on the outside.

April 13, 2011

103/365 Nine Weeks Old...

Uno and Ocho are nine weeks old. Time rushes by quickly. We have only two more days with Uno (white feet) and then he goes to his new "forever" home. Happy times and sad times too. I am happy that he is going to such a nice home. But sad to see him go. It's never easy to see them go but this is a part of the business.

April 12, 2011

102/365 Red Peppers...

I wish I liked peppers of any kind. I think they are still pretty. Spring, spring, spring is here.

April 11, 2011

101/365 Orange, Orange Everywhere

I love the colors of spring. Orange is one of the colors that brings such joy. I love to take close up photos of fruit and intense colors. It's my daughter's signature color and most everything she owns is orange.

100/365 My Birthday

I am a huge JFK fan. I have many items from his life. I am in the middle of watching the mini series about his life on the Reelz channel. As a birthday gift Thom gave me a first day cover from the "Commemorating the opening of the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Library" October 20, 1979 from JFK Library Sta., Dorchester MA 02125. This is very important to me. I will treasure this. It is 70 degrees today...even better.

April 9, 2011

99/365 Big Wheels Keep On Turning

...but for how long? I don't know how much it costs to keep this big guy on the road, but it's got'a be a bundle. With gas prices closing in on $4.00 a gallon, we all will be doing with a lot less soon.

April 8, 2011

98/365 Purple Carnation

We made another visit to our "new" favorite store...Horrock's Farm Market. I love the color of this carnation. I don't think I have ever seen such a pretty flower. I have decided that I am offering a special on 8x10 photos of my flower prints. Let me know if you're interested.

April 7, 2011

97/365 The T-Shirt

...says it all. I am a Christian and I am not afraid to declare my loyalty. Will there be a day when the average Christian becomes afraid and they will not stand for Christ? I pray I never see that day.

April 6, 2011

96/365 Nip N Sip

This is a little drive-in that has been in the neighborhood since I was a child...long time. It's a great place to stop for a quick sandwich and a chocolate shake.

April 5, 2011

95/365 Orange, Black and White...

I have been working with my Photoshop Elements on this flower picture to see what I could do. I really like how it turned out. It's a little weird looking but...

April 4, 2011

94/365 Something Old

...for me anyway. I use to love these little candies. They are called Gum Drops. Now they are called Gummy Everything but when I was a kid, they were just chewy and so good.

April 3, 2011

93/365 Purple Rose

I don't think I have ever seen a purple rose but my friend had a bunch on her table at lunch. Very nice. I had to get a close up of them.

April 2, 2011

92/365 Fun Way To Spend a Saturday Afternoon

Thom and I like to check out what's new in the wine section at our local store. You would think we were big drinkers. Maybe a beer once in awhile. Most of the time if I buy wine or beer it will set in the refrigerator for months until one of the kids come to the house and drink them. I thought these little bottles were cute.

91/365 Spring May Be Coming Soon...

Thom and I stopped at Horrocks Farmers Market today. I love all the flowers they have. It is such a fun store and they let me take pictures of their flowers. We spent $30.00 there, so I guess they really don't care if I take pictures. I love these pink tiger lilies (I think that's what they are called). No April's Fools.
