Welcome!

January 1, 2011 is the first day of a new year, and the second year I will try to attempt to post a photo every day for the next 365 days. It didn't work out so well last year. But as a New Years resolution, I have decided to try the 365 Day Photography challenge again.

59/365 One of God's Little Helpers

We had a dinner at church tonight and Morgan wanted to help serve. She is 8 years old and already has a servant's heart.

58/365 Looking Glass in the Winter

I drove by this river everyday. It's down the road from our house, but I never really look. So today I thought I would stop and take pictures from both sides of the bridge. This is looking east and the top picture is looking west. I now know where it got the name.

57/365 Beautiful Momma

Our Beebe. She still a very good looking girl. She is my girl. She will still run to me when she is scared. She wants to be in my arms when we go anywhere. She makes beautiful babies too.
This is the first picture with my new camera...Canon Rebel EOS xti. New to me.

56/365 Our Town...

Sort of... This is a display in a front window of one of our antique stores in town. I just like the way the sun was playing on this display. A kind of an "Our Town" theme.

55/365 Kittens at Play

I found these figurines at an antique shop and had to take a picture of them. I think they are so cute. We can't have cats because I have allergies. Dogs don't seem to bother me but cats do.

54/365 Three Weeks Old...

Our puppies are three weeks old. Another week, maybe two their eyes will be open. I never get tired of taking their pictures.

53/365 Clock in the Bell Tower

This is the court house of Gratiot county in Ithaca Michigan. We were out and about looking for new antique stores and ended up in Ithaca. Ithaca is about 40 miles north of Lansing. I just thought this was pretty.

52/365 O' The Socks...

My buddy Lauren and her crazy socks and shoes. She wear these to church yesterday. I had to post them. I like them. I would not wear outside my pants.

51/365 What Happened to Spring...

We were driving home from lunch and ran into this mess. What happened to an early spring as predicted by that groundhog 18 days ago?

50/365 Beautiful, Beautiful Carman

I never get tired of taking Carman's picture. She is a very beautiful dog. She is very photogenic but she really doesn't like having her picture taken. So I have to take it from the across the room and use my zoom. I like way the sun was coming in from the front window.

February 18, 2011

49/365 Angel and The Baby Jesus

Playing with the close up setting on my camera. I like the way this turned out.

February 17, 2011

48/365 Mom and Dad

I found this picture of my mom and dad at their wedding. I have the 20x24 enlargement picture of them facing the crowd as husband and wife, but I never seen this one where they are kissing. This is at my son's house. I wonder...where did he get it?
I thought it would be cool to restore this picture. My cousin Archie is a great photographer. It was taken in 1958.

47/365 Our Chunky Monkeys

Our little chunky monkeys are 8 days old. Mom is a little touchy about people touching them but I want her to be protective.

February 15, 2011

46/365 The Old Cadillac Club

A bar/night club in South Lansing had this '59 Cadillac front end above their door for years. Now it's Discount Dave's.

45/365 Art?

On the wall in the lobby of the East Lansing Michigan city hall is this display. I'm not sure what it is or what it means, I just like it. I hope someday someone will explain it to me.

44/365 A Noble Face

My husband and I went back to our new found antique shop in Oldtown today. This is one of a pair of bookends we found. This face just looked so noble to me and childlike.

43/365 A Different Nightime View

On our way home from a wedding, we drove downtown. I like taking pictures in black and white, this time I used the normal setting to see how it would turn out. I think I will stay with black and white.

February 11, 2011

42/365 Standing Alone

While I was out and about today I came across this tree. I think I have driven by this field and this tree on my way home a thousand times. I thought it would look nice in black and white.

41/365 The Blue Jay Dance...

My husband loves to feed the birds in the front yard. I was watching these guys and amazed how aggressive these birds are. All the other birds will fly away when there are blue jays around. Yes, I know the pictures are a little dark but I was taking them from the house maybe 15 yards away and didn't have the camera setting just right.

40/365 We Have Puppies...Again.

Well it's been a long night and we finally have puppies, again. They are Beebe and Tucker this time. They are both sucking strong. She was due today. We are thrilled that she was able to carry them to full term.

39/365 Politically Incorrect...

I know this hand fan will offend someone. When did history become so politically incorrect that we now have lost our sense of humor? There are a lot of people who collect black art. Just try to find a copy of "Song of the South"...can't be done. I have a black friend who collects black art who offered Thom big money for this simple hand fan.

38/365 Thank You, Thank You Very Much...

This is like the smallest bottle I have ever seen. I think this is cool. This one belongs to me.

February 6, 2011

37/365 My Gloves

With all the snow we have been getting...these are getting a workout. Playing again with my close up settings. I think it turned out well.

February 5, 2011

36/365 Carman and Rocky

I love how willing these two seem to be to have their pictures taken. Maybe they are my biggest hams. Carman is so photogenic and Rocky is as big ham as his father Cisco. I just like the way the morning sun from the window gives a soft glow to the whole picture.

February 4, 2011

35/365 The Biggest Chicken Of All

Cisco (background) will not go inside this cat toy that I have for the puppies. It moves. The puppies don't seem to have a problem playing in it.

February 3, 2011

34/365 What I Drink

I was playing around with the close up setting on my camera. I just like the way this turned out. Maybe I am sending too much time indoors.

February 2, 2011

33/365 Soap Stone Owls

Some of my husband's collections are ok. I like these little guys. From what he says, these guys are worth a good bit.

32/365 Memoirs of Summer Days Gone...

There is a fire pit under all that snow. I seen this and thought how sad this scene looked. Spring is only three months away.
